Are you on your way to the Happiest Place on Earth?
You want to be ready for all the Instagram-worthy moments, whether you’re taking a classic photo in front of the castle or posing with your favorite Disney princess.
If you’re looking for what to wear to Disney World or Disneyland, read on. We’ve got outfit tips and more!
Keep it cute and comfy
Both the Golden State and the Sunshine state are known for the sun. Expect the parks to be hot, hot, hot — especially if you’re visiting in the summer. So, make shorts your sidekick and get ready to have fun!
Jean shorts in particular are popular around the parks. They complement almost any top, and they’re great for getting in and out of rides. Plus, shorts can handle a little water if you get them wet on Splash mountain.
If you’re one of those gals who likes to buck trends but keep it fashionable, overalls or rompers are just as cute and comfy.
As for your top, tanks, spaghetti straps, and graphic tees are all chic yet totally cool and breathable.
Pro Tip: Staying for the fireworks? Pack a jean jacket in case it gets chilly at night.
Bring your walking shoes
A day at Disney is a day of walking. You’ll have no problem getting your steps in!
To keep yourself smiling, make sure you wear a pair of comfortable shoes. Flats and slip-ons are fabulous options, but there’s something special about a pair of super cute sneakers. What can we say? They just go great with Mickey ears!
Get your Mickey on
Speaking of Mickey ears, they really complete the look. Some Instagram favorites include the classic matte ears, sequined ears, or even those ultra coveted rose gold Minnie ears.
But, you’ve got even more fun options, like ones featuring the balloons from Up, the Pixar ball, or with a veil attached — perfect for celebrating a wedding or bachelorette party.
If you’re short on space in your carryon, you can always wait to buy a pair when you get to Disney, but it’s usually cheaper to buy online ahead of time. You can also search on Etsy for a homemade pair.
Mickey ears are the main event, but you can still accessorize. Studs look adorable and won’t get tangled in your hair while you’re flying around on the roller coasters. Bangles and simple chain necklaces also add a bit of shine without getting in the way.
Beat the heat
As we said, it’s hot at Disney! So don’t forget to pack your sunscreen. You want to let your shoulders bronze, not burn.
If you feel the sweat coming on, nothing feels better than a mid-day ride on Splash Mountain. Just bring along an extra shirt, or a rain coverup to keep your outfit Instagram-ready afterward.
Hakuna Matata, baby
It means no worries for the rest of your days. The secret to a magical Disney trip is going with the flow. There will be long lines and a lot to do, so stay flexible and focus on having fun, versus making sure everything gets checked off your wishlist.
We recommend renting a locker on Main Street. You can store your sunscreen in there, along with an extra shirt or jacket (and any merch you pick up during the day). Or, you can bring along a cute mini backpack. Bonus points if it’s Disney-themed!
Don’t forget your travel jewelry case from Roam Often. The Wanderer’s 5x7-inch folio is large enough to hold your jewelry while you brave the thrill rides but small enough to fit in any backpack.
